Old Frog skin lures
Fishing lures from the past made with real Frog skin.
I was amazed when i came across a few old lures in a tackle box
from a yard sale.
There was one old lure that looked alot different it looked very weathered
it was dark brown with a light tan speckled belly..
It was not in Mint shape by no means,
But this lure did have Character, There was something really different about this lure.
It looked like it had the pattern of a real frog..
There was noway anyone or lure company could make this with out actually skinning a frog and stretching it over a wooden blank and letting it DRY..
So i did a bit more research on this interesting strange old lure..
It was made by the Eger lure company back in the late 30s early 1940s in Florida
and they did just that,, they came out with a lure that was called the Frog skin lure in
Natural frog skin color,,
It was one of there best selling lures they made and was very sought after by anglers everywhere, And it was made from real Bull frog skin!

I must say they are getting more RARE so it would be a good idea to buy them when you find any in any shape!
