Guide to Collecting Antique Fishing Reels

ANTIQUE FISHING REELS FOR SALE!

Collecting vintage fishing reels can be fun and rewarding..
But finding the quality vintage reels at a low cost is starting to get harder nowadays.

Due to the fact that collecting antique fishing gear is becoming more popular with the masses.
I'm not saying you cant still find good quality vintage reels and lures at local garage sales, flee markets, estate sales. Antiques seem to vanish and fade away in time and old reels and antique lures will become harder to find one day..

So my advice to you is this, if you enjoy collecting old fishing reels, fishing lures, and other antique fishing related items and you have some extra money to spend, by all means invest and embrace your interests in the older fishing reels and vintage fishing gear ..
Because your not only keeping the sport of fishing alive, in a sense
your investing in the history of fishing..

Here's a great website to help you start your fishing reel collection today..

It is 100% free to use. Try this website link-->Vintage fishing reel deals.

Collecting fishing reels is great past time and fun activity for all ages.

**Helpfull hints when collecting old reels***

*Finding old reels at flee markets and garage sales, estate sales is still the best way in my opinion and less costly by far.,
And finding a good vintage reel for buck or two becomes a thrill to the collector and is very rewarding when accomplished.

1:) Buy a guide reference book on vintage reels and study it well,
It will help you alot with Identifying your reels and the values of reels you find..

Heres a book i recomend on collecting older reels click here-> Lawson's Old Fishing Reel Collectors Guide.

The Second thing i would recommend is this when buying old reels is..

2: Pay attention to what condition is the antique reel in?
Does it have lots of wear scratches missing parts bent plates, missing handle?
Or is it just dirty and tarnished and can it be cleaned up?
Or could it be used for parts for other future fishing reels you may decide to collect?

*Does it have any original information or box and what type of shape is that in?
A Reel in good shape with a box can easily go up in price quite a lot if it has the original box and paper work with it..

**The third bit of advice would have to be most important of all..

#3:) Is to have fun and share and expose your fine reel collection with others to spark this wonderful hobby in others.

By the end of the day when you get a collection of older fishing reels you will notice how well made they were. And how the newer reels today can't compare to them..

I hope this article helps you in some way with your antique reel collection.
